TubiFast Glove features:

• Allow full freedom of movement of fingers and thumbs, therefore can be worn throughout the day and night without interfering with normal day-to-day activities
• Provide full coverage of the wrists, a common location of eczematous skin

• Shield inflamed hands from view and protect bedding and clothing from a greasier emollient

Designed to cover and protect, Tubifast Gloves can be worn in three ways:

1) use one pair alone as a dermatological covering. The gloves will protect bedding and clothing from dermatological preparations.

2) apply one pair of gloves directly over a liberal layer of emollient (dry wrapping).

3) use two pairs of gloves in the wet wrapping technique. Apply a liberal layer of emollient to the hands, followed by a warm damp pair of gloves and then a dry pair on top.

How Tubifast Garments Work

Ready-made Tubifast Garments are designed for dressing retention and wet or dry wrapping. They are available in full-sleeved vests, tights, leggings, socks, and gloves for children six months and older.

Tubifast Garments do not require tapes, pins or ties and provide quick and easy application. The two-way construction ensures complete freedom of movement, and the flat seams help prevent irritation to sensitive skin. Tubifast Garments are comfortable to wear at night and under ordinary clothes, promoting active days and restful nights. They are also washable for continued use.

Areas of Use

Tubifast Garments may be used as dressing retention in the treatment of Epidermis Bullosa (EB) and wet or dry wrapping therapy used in the treatment of atopic eczema.

Use as secondary dressing over other Molnlycke dressings such as Mepitex®, Mepilex® Ag, Mepilex® Lite, Mepitel®, Mepilex® Transfer, and Mepilex® Heel.

Please note: Tubifast Garments are a medical product for use either in dressing retention, wet or dry wrapping. It is recommended that Tubifast Garments are sized according to dimensions as well as age. If in any doubt regarding the selection of size, the next largest size should be chosen. (e.g., if the child is wearing a diaper with the Tubifast Garments, please allow for extra sizing). Tubifast Garments are a medical product and as such need treating with care. For protection and longer-lasting wear of your Tubifast Garments, follow wash instructions and apply normal, loose-fitting clothing or nightwear over the Tubifast Garments.

We know from all the GPs, parents and children we talk to that eczema can be very frustrating to treat, and must be even more frustrating and distressing to live with. Anything that can help manage it better has to be very welcome.

Tubifast Garments do exactly that. They're a proven alternative to wet wrapping, a first line treatment where instead of wrapping occlusive dressings over emollient to treat non-infected atopic eczema, you simply pull these specially designed garments on over the cream.

They're available for all young patients between the ages of 6 months and 14 years old, and are made from a soft, stretchy material using SoftSeam Technology, which in the form of flat-seamed vests, leggings, tights and socks can be worn much like ordinary underwear.

Worn damp at night-time and dry during the day, they keep the skin moist for several hours at a time, helping control itching and irritation. They also provide a useful barrier against scratching, and because of their high absorbency, help reduce the need for high potency steroid creams.

Since Tubifast garments can be washed, tumble-dried, and used up to 30 times, they can save money on prescription costs.

Their simplicity-of-use tends to improve compliance, which in turn, means the "itch-scratch cycle" can be significantly reduced.
